About Portal
What this is
Portal is a community for people who take their inner life seriously. It's a place to find others in your city, discover events worth going to, and connect around the experiences that matter most.
How it stays alive
Portal doesn't have advertisers or investors calling the shots. It runs because Portal Members and Founders - people in the community - choose to support it every month. That's it.
Who built it
Portal is built by a small team in Nashville. It's part of Propeller, a platform connecting artists, creators, and communities around causes that matter.

Preparation
SET & SETTING
Where you are and how you feel going in shapes everything. Choose a safe space. Have a trusted person nearby or on call. Avoid new or unpredictable environments.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Use extra caution or avoid entirely if you take SSRIs, MAOIs, lithium, or have a personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar disorder. When in doubt, consult a doctor first.
START LOW
If it's your first time with a substance or a new batch, start with a lower dose than you think you need. You can always go deeper next time.
HAVE A PLAN
Tell someone you trust. Have water and snacks nearby. Remove obligations for the rest of the day and the morning after. Have Fireside's number saved: 623-473-7433.
Portal has pre-researched a recommended route for your city. You can customize these details or use them as-is.

"On April 19, 1943, Albert Hofmann rode his bicycle home from his lab in Basel. He didn't know what was happening to him - he just kept pedaling. We're here because of that ride."
2
"Look around. These are your people. This community exists because people showed up - in this city, in 45 others around the world, today."
3
"We ride as a reminder: the conversation about consciousness, healing, and the mind is overdue. This is our way of saying: we're not waiting."
4
"End with your sound. A bell, a bowl, a word. Then roll."
Adapt freely - these are prompts, not a script. Speak from your own experience.
Portal is the platform connecting you with this community-organized ride. Each ride is independently organized by local volunteers. You Are The Portal Inc. is not the event organizer.

✦ Community Guidelines
Portal is a sacred space for conscious connection. We're building something special here - a network rooted in trust, respect, and shared intention. These guidelines help us protect that energy.
✦ Code of Ethics
Lead with respect. Treat every member the way you'd want to be treated in a ceremony circle. Listen deeply, speak kindly, and honor each person's journey.
Hold space, not judgment. This community includes people at every stage of their path. What's sacred to you may be new to someone else.
Protect the container. What's shared in Circles stays in Circles. Don't screenshot, share, or reference private conversations outside the app.
◎ What's Not Allowed
No sourcing or solicitation. Do not use Portal to buy, sell, trade, or source any substances. This is a zero-tolerance policy. Violations result in immediate removal.
No spam or repeated self-promotion. Sharing your work is welcome occasionally, but don't use Circles as a billboard. If it feels like an ad, it probably is.
No harassment or hate. Bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, threats, or any form of targeted negativity will not be tolerated.
No medical advice. Share your experience, but don't prescribe. Always encourage members to consult qualified professionals for health decisions.
⊹ Self-Promotion Policy
Share, don't spam. You're welcome to share your retreats, workshops, art, music, or services occasionally. Keep it authentic and relevant to the conversation.
The 90/10 rule. For every promotional post, aim for at least 9 genuine contributions. Be a community member first, a promoter second.
☽ Auto-Moderation
Messages are automatically scanned for content that violates our guidelines. Flagged messages may be blocked or reviewed by a moderator. Repeated violations may result in suspension or removal from the network.
✦ Reporting
If you see something that doesn't feel right, please reach out to us at hello@youaretheportal.org. We take every report seriously and handle all concerns with discretion.
✦ The Portal Manifesto
The Way Out Is In
✦ Who We Are
Portal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building a global network of conscious humans. We exist to destigmatize psychedelics, educate communities, and advocate for policy reform. We are researchers, healers, artists, advocates, and everyday people who believe these medicines belong to everyone.
◎ What We Believe
Psychedelics are not recreational drugs. They are tools for healing, growth, and connection. Used with intention and respect, they have the power to transform individuals and communities. Science is confirming what indigenous cultures have known for millennia.
We believe in harm reduction over prohibition. In education over fear. In community over isolation. In the radical act of showing up for each other.
☽ Why This Matters
Mental health is in crisis. Traditional systems are failing millions of people. Psychedelic-assisted therapy is showing unprecedented results for depression, PTSD, addiction, and end-of-life anxiety. We are at a tipping point.
But access requires advocacy. Advocacy requires community. Community requires connection. That is what Portal provides.
✦ Our Commitment
Every dollar raised through Portal goes directly toward psychedelic education, harm reduction programs, policy advocacy, and community building. We don't sell substances. We don't provide medical advice. We create the conditions for people to find each other, support each other, and push this forward together.
